The Media Association of Pittsburgh (MAP) serves as the leading resource and community hub for media buyers, sellers, marketers, agencies, content creators, and communication professionals across the Greater Pittsburgh region. Our mission is to identify, celebrate, and educate the media community while strengthening the connection between local businesses and the evolving media landscape.
At MAP, we equip professionals with the tools, knowledge, and relationships needed to navigate today’s rapidly changing media world. Whether you work in planning, buying, strategy, production, journalism, sales, development, creative, or leadership — MAP is where Pittsburgh’s media community comes together to learn, grow, and lead.
We are a diverse network of writers, producers, reporters, anchors, planners, buyers, account executives, agency owners, managers, strategists, and developers. If it touches media, MAP is part of it.

What Board Members Do
Media Association of Pittsburgh (MAP) Board of Directors
Board members of the Media Association of Pittsburgh (MAP) serve as the leadership body responsible for upholding the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the organization. In accordance with MAP’s Bylaws, the Board administers the business affairs of MAP and ensures that all programming, events, membership activities, and community initiatives reflect the goals of the Association.
MAP Board service is a two-year term for elected directors. Board members are expected to be active contributors who work collaboratively to support MAP’s events, operations, and long-term growth.
Responsibilities of MAP Board Members
Leadership & Governance
- Maintain and uphold MAP’s mission to identify, celebrate, and educate the Pittsburgh media community.
- Participate in Board decision-making, voting, and organizational discussions.
- Help review, develop, and support policies and procedures that guide MAP’s operations.
- Support fiscal oversight in partnership with MAP’s Treasurer.
Meetings & Participation
- Attend monthly Board meetings; directors may miss up to three meetings per year per MAP Bylaws.
- Engage in committee or project-based meetings as needed throughout the year.
- Stay informed on MAP initiatives, deadlines, and communications.
Event Planning & Execution
Board members play a key role in developing, organizing, and supporting MAP’s cornerstone programs, including:
- The Outstanding Achievement in Media Awards (OAMA)
- Beer & Big Shots Scholarship Fundraiser
- Educational sessions and workshops
- Networking events, mixers, and partner activations
Directors are expected to actively contribute to at least one MAP committee (Celebrations, Education, Membership, Communications, or others created by the Board). Committees are officially recognized and supported under MAP Bylaws.
Membership & Community Engagement
- Promote and support membership growth and retention.
- Engage with members, partners, students, and the broader media community.
- Assist with outreach efforts that strengthen MAP’s presence and increase participation in programming.
Scholarship & Community Impact
- Support fundraising initiatives for the MAP Scholarship Fund and related charitable activities.
- Participate in community outreach and volunteer opportunities that reflect MAP’s educational mission.
Eligibility for Board Service
- Board members must be current MAP members in good standing; membership dues may be paid at the time of nomination or election.
- Board members must be at least 18 years of age.
- Board members serve a two-year term for elected seats, with the option to serve consecutive terms within the limit specified by MAP Bylaws.
- All Directors are expected to act in accordance with MAP’s conflict of interest, governance, and ethical standards.
Leadership Opportunities
MAP includes both elected Directors and Appointed Directors (officers). Officer roles include President, Secretary, Treasurer, and four Vice Presidents:
- Vice President of Celebrations
- Vice President of Education
- Vice President of Membership
- Vice President of Communications
Officer positions are appointed by the Incoming President and serve one-year terms, per the Bylaws.

Vicki Potter
President (Term began January 2025)
Victoria Potter is currently the Global Assurance Director for ID Comms, award-winning global management consultancy specializing in media and advertising. She joins from ECI Media Management, where she has been US Business Director since 2019, having previously worked at Ebiquity for more than 13 years, rising to Client Services Director for the US business. Victoria began her media career working at Universal McCann and Saatchi & Saatchi and has since worked across a wide range of marketing categories such as Automotive, FMCG/CPG, Pharmaceutical, Entertainment, Electronics, Travel, Food and Beverage and Fast Food Restaurants.
Judy Bernstein
Treasurer
Judy is a Philly girl, born and raised in Elkins Park. After taking a Television/Film course in high school, Judy decided to pursue a career in communications and attended Syracuse University. Graduating with a BS in Television/Radio and a minor in Marketing and she is now a lifelong Syracuse fan.
Making the move to Pittsburgh in 1989, Judy began selling locally. Her positions included A.E. for WTAE and WPXI, NSM for WPGH, TTN Sales Manager for Clear Channel Radio/iHeart and AE at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Judy has a daughter Hannah who loves to travel the world. She is proud to live in Pittsburgh where she enjoys her friends, family, traveling, eating, reading and hiking.
Christine Robertson
Secretary
Christine is a Media Buyer/ Planner with Chemistry Communications. She works with a dynamic media team in both the Pittsburgh and Atlanta office on media plans and implementing buys for a range of clients.
Her media career started in Kansas City, and she went on to senior buying and planning positions at agencies in St. Louis and Cincinnati where, as a media supervisor, she bought broadcast in the top 20 DMAs.
After a lovely decade or so focused on raising her three children, Christine returned to the workforce as part of the launch team for Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel. There, she was Executive Assistant to the General Manager and served as Secretary for the Fairmont Condo Association.
In her free time, Christine is pursuing a USRowing Assistant Referee certification, enjoys reading, knitting and has discovered a passion for golf. You can also find her on Peloton, sweating away as MTLChristine.
Doug Andiorio
Vice President of Communications
Doug Andiorio is a member of the account management team at , StackAdapt. He works with reps and their clients on their digital strategy and campaigns ranging over many products. Before that he with 535Media/Trib Total Media as a digital strategist. Previously he was a part of the digital sales team at WPXI-TV since 2017, before that he was Market Research Analyst at Comcast Spotlight, handling research for the Pittsburgh, Wheeling, Youngstown, and Johnstown-Altoona-State College markets. His media career began at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as a Research Analyst in 2011 in their advertising department.
Andiorio is a Massachusetts native but has called Pittsburgh home since he graduated from Point Park University in 2011, where he also played baseball for two years. Along with being a Pittsburgh sports fan he enjoys playing sports as well such as hockey, softball, and even kickball. Doug also spends a lot of time with his girlfriend on their new home and spending time with their dog Joey.
Sydney Moidel
Vice President of Celebrations
Sydney Moidel is a Senior Media Strategist at Highmark Health, bringing a decade of experience in traditional and digital media planning and buying. With expertise in display advertising, social media, OTT/CTV, and streaming audio to name a few, Sydney delivers integrated media strategies that prioritize efficiency and client satisfaction. Known for her attention to detail and client-first approach, she seamlessly manages all aspects of media planning.
While attending Robert Morris University, Sydney’s media career began with internships at Ronin Advertising and MARC USA, where she went on to become a Media Buyer in 2017. Since then, she has worked with top brands, including PA Lottery, Levin Furniture, and Dollar Bank, Rivers Casino, among others. Throughout her career, Sydney has honed her ability to craft impactful campaigns that drive results across multiple channels.
Outside of work, Sydney balances her career with her growing family. When she’s not strategizing media campaigns, she enjoys spending time with her son Cameron, husband Heath. She’s passionate about the evolving role of AI in media and continues to embrace new trends in the industry.
Jim Maffessanti
Vice President of Membership
Jim Maffessanti is an accomplished sales executive with extensive experience in the television industry, driving sales strategies and fostering client relationships.
Jim started his career in television in 1993 at WPGH TV as a traffic coordinator and quickly moved into sales. He then moved to WTAE TV in 2001 as an account executive and would later become Digital Sales Manager and then Local Sales Manager. In 2017, Jim moved his family to Burlington, VT to lead the sales team at WPTZ TV, the local NBC affiliate. In 2024, Jim found his way back to The ‘Burgh to reconnect with his family and the Pittsburgh media community and is now serving as a Regional Account Executive at Comcast Advertising.
A proud native of Pittsburgh, Jim’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University, which laid the foundation for his successful career in sales and management.
In his free time Jim can be found spending time with his family, camping or riding his bike on the many rail trails in and around Pittsburgh.
