The Media Association of Pittsburgh (MAP) is excited to launch our Media Mentorship Program, a new initiative designed to connect Pittsburgh-area college students with experienced professionals across broadcasting, advertising, public relations, journalism, digital media, and related fields. The program aims to help students develop career-ready skills while strengthening the future talent pipeline within our local media community
We are currently seeking volunteer mentors who are willing to share their knowledge, experiences, and insights with the next generation of media professionals.
Mentor Expectations
Participation is designed to be meaningful while remaining manageable for busy professionals. Mentors will be asked to:
- Commit to the program from October 2026 through April 2027.
- Meet with their assigned mentee for a minimum of one 30-minute conversation per month, either virtually or in person.
- Provide guidance on career planning, resumes, portfolios, networking, interviewing, and navigating the media industry.
- Share real-world industry perspectives and professional experiences.
- Participate in brief program feedback surveys conducted by MAP during the program cycle.
