MAP, AAF Pgh, and RedTree Web Design are partnering to bring the Unfiltered Leadership series to Pittsburgh this fall for its second installment, following a sold-out debut panel with the AMA in March 2026 that brought together women and marginalized genders in marketing for real strategy and career growth conversations.
Women make up roughly half of all marketing roles, yet only about 20% reach the C-suite. Closing that gap takes more than talent. It takes the right people showing up at the right moments, and most leaders can point to a specific relationship that carried them through a career-defining challenge.
This installment goes deep on the part of the story that often gets left out: the relationships that carried you through. Every leader has a moment they didn’t get through alone, a boss who advocated for them, a peer who told them the truth, or a champion who opened a door. We want our panelists to tell these stories honestly: how you built the relationship and your general approach to relationship building, the challenges you’ve faced, the people who showed up, and how those relationship shaped what came next. While this should ground the conversation, it shouldn’t be limiting. Our attendees are looking for wisdom from the leaders who have paved the way.
This isn’t a feel-good event. It’s a space, exclusively for women and marginalized genders in marketing, for tangible growth and unfiltered honesty about the relationships and power moves that actually move careers forward.
