1946 – Organization founded by Thomas J. MacWilliams, with the original name of The Pittsburgh Radio and Television Club (PRTC) and comprised primarily of media advertising Account Executives, Sales Managers, and General Managers from Pittsburgh-area radio and television stations
1989– Outstanding Achievement in Media Awards (OAMA) is introduced as an annual event to celebrate and acknowledge those who have made remarkable contributions to the industry
1996 – MAP celebrates its 50th anniversary
2007 – Organization name changed to The Media Association of Pittsburgh or MAP
2011 – MAP celebrates its 65th anniversary
2018 – 30th Annual OAMA event
2021 – PRTC/MAP will celebrate its 75th year as an organization
